Review: Belle Madame Konjac Sponge

Today's review is about Belle Madame Konjac Sponge that I bought from Sasa.com. The reason I'm interested in this sponge at the first place because I've seen a lot of good review about konjac sponge and since this one is cheap I decided to buy it. Too bad I only bought one because this sponge is awesome!!! I got it at $2.8 (IDR 28.000), cheap isn't it??

Description:

Belle Madame Konjac Washing Sponge (oval shape) is made of natural Konjac fiber and is especially for sensitive skin and skin with acne. It can keep 97% moisture and moisturize the skin. Its 3D design helps generate rich lather, deeply clean the make-up, dirt and impurities in pores in order to deter the appearance of acne and blackhead. Konjac can also smoothen the skin.. 

How to Use:

Clean it before use. Tap it into water and make it expand and softer. Then, massage over the skin in circular motion. Use water to clean it again after use and place it at the dry area.

Review: TCM Sleeping Pack Cubilose Pearl

I've been mentioning a lot in my blog that I love sleeping mask right? Why I love it so much? Well... Because it's convenient of course. It's time saving because you just put in on before bed and wake up with a great skin!! 

So today I'm gonna review about my favorite sleeping mask ever which is TCM Sleeping Pack Cubilose Pearl. FYI, TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine.

How I Cleanse My Face with OCM (Oil Cleansing Method) and My Current Oil Blend

I've been into cleansing my face with OCM (Oil Cleansing Method) lately and some of my friends ask me on how I do this thing. There are actually a lot of blog and website that discuss about this and my method is slightly different from them.

What I'm preparing:

- My oil blend

- Cleansing wipes

You can see that I'm not using washcloth or even hot water to steam my face. I opt not to do this since I live in a tropical country and it is hot and humid pretty much 24/7. So I think I'm gonna step the steaming part. I don't use washcloth either since it's a bother to wash those oil from the washcloth, I prefer to use cleansing wipes to get rid of the oil on my face and so far this version of OCM works really well for me and do not break me out. What also makes me happy is that my skin do not purge either.

My steps are;

1. I put a decent amount of my oil blend at my palm.
2. Dab the oil on several parts of my face such as forehead, temple, nose, cheek, chin, and also my neck. These oil is also pretty gentle on my eye area and cleanse stubborn eyeliner and mascara pretty well too!!
3. I usually start cleansing my eye area first from the make-up, eyeliner, and mascara with the oil.
4. After that I started to massage my face gently in a circular motion and focus on my problem area. For me, my problem area is my T-Zone. Oh.. and I also use this oil blend to clean my lips from lipstick
5. I massage my face and neck for a several minutes usually around 3-5 minutes. If my face feels tight it means that I've been massaging my face for too long.
6. After massaging I wipe my face with cleansing wipes starting from the eye area first to get rid of those make-up and make sure that I don't have eyeliner or mascara residue on my eye and continue to cleanse my other facial and neck area.
7. If I've been wearing full make-up or have been going out all day I usually continue to do more cleansing with cleansing cream and facial wash. But sometimes I skip this step if I'm a bit lazy he he he....
8. After I cleanse my face I ended it with my usual skin care routine such as serum, emulsion, night cream, and sleeping pack.

Crochet Mesh Necklace (and extra giveaway post)

Have a great Sunday people!! Today I'm gonna share a pattern that I get from one of my favorite blog which called A Common Thread. Her blog has a lot of DIY project, Sewing, Crochet, and Knitting!! It was her blog that got me interested in making crochet accessories.

I made the necklace using steel crochet hook #4 (2.5 mm) and local cotton yarn. It was pretty easy to make and perfect for beginner. In her blog she made a simple mesh necklace but I think it would looks prettier if I add some flower and leaves.

Oil Cleansing Method (OCM)

Kalau melihat judulnya memang terlihat seru ya? Oil cleansing method? Maksudnya membersihkan dengan minyak? Apalagi ternyata metode ini digunakan untuk membersihkan wajah? Apa nantinya wajah tidak akan semakin berminyak?

Ide dasar dari metode ini sangatlah simpel, yaitu minyak larut dalam minyak dan air tidak mampu melarutkan minyak. Kulit manusia secara alami mamou melumasi dirinya dengan minyak, namun tentunya dalam pikiran orang banyak sudah terpatri bahwa pembersih wajah itu digunakan untuk membersihkan wajah dari segala minyak. Sehingga ide untuk membersihkan wajah dengan minyak tentunya akan terdengar sangat aneh. Apalagi bila membayangkan rasa licin, berminyak, dan penyumbatan pori-pori dari pengolesan minyak ke seluruh wajah. Errr... Gimannnnnaaaa gitu ya?? 

Sebetulnya minyak itu sendiri tidak menimbulkan jerawat, dan komedo. Segala macam hal yang menyebalkan itu adalah hasil dari berbagai macam faktor yang berbeda termasuk hormon, bakteri, sel kulit mati dan tumpukan dari faktor-faktor tadi. Kulit manusia memproduksi minyak secara alami karena memang membutuhkannya. Minyak bukanlah sejenis musuh yang harus dibasmi; dia ada untuk kepentingan kulit yang menjaga agar organ-organ berfungsi dengan baik. Minyak alami wajah membantu dalam melumasi, menyembuhkan, melindungi, dan melembabkan kulit sehingga dapat berfungsi dengan baik. Kulit yang berfungsi dengan baik akan terlihat cantik, bersih, dan bercahaya. 

Namun bukan berarti air tidak penting ya. Jika kita memiliki kulit yang bermasalah dengan noda dan blemish maka minumlah!! Air akan membantu  melepas dan mengeluarkan racun dari dalam tubuh sehingga mengurangi beban dari kulit untuk mendorong racun tersebut keluar.

Crochet Friendship Bracelet

Today I'm gonna share a pattern on this super easy friendship bracelet. You can make it in any color and the width and length is adjustable. I made this using two strands of yarn and crochet them together but you can also make it with more than two color, just adjust it with your hook size. More yarns means bigger hook. This bracelet is perfect for beginners who wants to make a quick and easy accessories. The bracelet will look better if your wear several of them together. The pattern that I will use in this post in the pattern using two strands of yarn.

Material:

- Two color of your choices of yarn color (I use local cotton yarn)

- Steel crochet hook #5 (3 mm)

Pattern:

Round 1: ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in the remaining ch [3 sc]

Note: if you want to make a wider bracelet just crochet more ch

Round 2: ch 1, turn, and sc in each sc across

Round 3: repeat round 2 until you reach your desired length. Fasten off.

Bracelet Tail:

Cut several pieces of yarn together at your desired length and attach it to the end of each bracelet. After that braid those strands of yarn and when you finish the braid just tie it into a knot and trim the uneven edges. This braided part is use to tie your bracelet.

Rice bran oil contains tocotrienol (a form of Vitamin E) which has been found to inhibit the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme that synthesizes cholesterol, a major factor in heart disease. Some study even shows that the tocotrienol in rice bran oil reduced cholesterol in rats up to 42 percent while lowering LDL cholesterol up to 62 percent.

For a long time, there has been a tradition in Japan that women rub rice bran in or put rice bran oil on their face to keep their skin smooth. It was a tradition and people don’t know the real reason why rice bran or rice bran oil is effective in keeping skin smooth but it is thought that it relates to the functions of minor components of rice bran oil. These women, having smooth and shiny skin, are called “Nuka-Bijin” “Bran Beauty” in English.

Rice bran oil is obtained from the husk of paddy and consists of embryo (germ) and endosperm of Oryza sativa family Graminae. You can obtain this oil as a byproduct in rice mill during polishing of rice after dehusking. Rice bran oil is known for its high smoke point of 490 degrees F (254 degrees C), making it suitable for healthy cooking methods, such as the stir frying and deep frying made popular by Asian countries. Because of its healthy fat composition being 47 percent monounsaturated, 33 percent polyunsaturated and 20 percent saturated, rice bran oil provides many health benefits. That makes it the oil of choice for improving serum cholesterol levels and preventing cardiovascular disease.It is considered by some to be the “worlds healthiest edible oil” containing many vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients.  It is also trans fat free. Studies have shown it can help lower cholesterol, enhance the immune system and fight free radicals.
