DIY Accessories Organizer Tutorial

Good morning!! It's pretty sunny in Jogjakarta...

I wake up with a dizzy feeling because I have a low blood pressure. Luckily it's better now so I made up my mind to make this post. At first I'm not thinking of making a post about it, but my friends wants to see it. So here goes... Oh I have to excuse if the pictures aren't good since I made this in my room and don't have a proper lightning or even camera. >.<

The reason I made this organizer is because I have a bunch of accessories and all of them are jumble up in one place. So when I need to wear them, it just get messy and I ended up not wearing any accessories. I made three types of organizer and you can choose which one do you want to make.

TYPE 1

1. Prepare styrofoam board.

First I bought one of those styrofoam board thingy that you can buy at book store. I wanted to use wooden board but I'm so bad with tools. So styrofoam board will do. The one I bought is about 1m x 50cm, and I got it for IDR 4000 ($ 0.4).

2. Prepare the fabric

I got these really pretty fabrics for free and gonna use it to cover up the styrofoam board. Why do I cover it? Because it's cuter that way!!

3. Cut the styrofoam board

I mark my board for the cutting line and cut it in 4 pieces, but you can make it in any size you like. 

4. Glue the fabric into the styrofoam board to cover them.

I started to glue from the edge and then continue to the other edge. If I have a leftover fabric at the edge, I just cut them. I don't need to wrap the fabric all over the board, it's a waste and my fabric is not that big anyway.

5. Prepare your favorite ribbons.

I use these ribbons because it's the only one I have. You can use any ribbons you like.

6. Glue the ribbon in one of the board in a criss-cross

This is what I mean with criss-cross, it doesn't have to be the same wide or length. I also glue the part where the ribbon meet. 

I don't use the ribbons all the way, but make sure you glue it a lot so it will holds.

7. Your Done!!!

 Here's what the finish product looks like. You can put your earrings, bracelet and bangle at it.

For the bracelet and bangle just slide them between the ribbon. Now you why I glue the part where the ribbon meets right? Because if I don't it will hold the bracelet and bangle but it won't look sturdy.

For stud earrings just stick it at the ribbon, for hoops earrings you can put it between the ribbon, and for dangle earrings just hang it at the ribbon.

TYPE 2

 Step 1-4 is the same with TYPE 1

5. Prepare push pin and chains

I bought push pin at a book store and chains at accessories store. I usually bought the chain in bulk in case I wanted to make a necklace or bracelet.

6. Glue the push pin and chain and your done!!

Here's what it looks like when it finish. I wanted to find a small hooks for the chains but I can't find any so I use push pins instead to "push" the chain into the board and glue it so it will hold and won't fall. The push pins at the bottom are also glued into the board.

Here's how you put your earrings, it's mostly for dangle earring though.  

 

Just hang your necklace at the push pin.

 

TYPE 3

The steps are the same with TYPE 2 but in this one you only use the push pins.
