Review: Kojic Soap with Glutathione

How are you people?? Hope you are in a good health because my condition is not so good lately . My cough just gotten better a few days ago but yesterday it came back again. #sigh.... I have to stop forgetting to take vitamins!! Since I prefer to stay at home today I might as well be a little more productive and make one or two update on this blog. Today's review is another beauty soap from Philippines and it's my favorite one so far. This soap is called Kojic Soap with Glutathione and it's intended for sensitive skin which is perfect for me!!

The Product Description and Packaging:

This soap comes in a red metallic and white box and it's tightly wrapped in plastic seal. There's a product explanation, ingredients, directions, manufacture and also expiry date on the back. There is also 'halal' sign and product size on the side.

An effective anti-oxidant and skin enhancing soap combined with excellent moisturizing properties. Kojic, a by product of fermentation process of malting rice and a mushroom derivative which has been used in Japan for many years to help lighten pigmentation and treat pimples (acne). Glutathione, a natures' miracle helps whiten the dark parts of the body like armpits, pimple scars, stretch marks, melasma and other pigmentation.

Aqua, Cocus Nucifera (Virgin Coconut Oil), Kojic Extract, Glutathione Extract, Vitamin C, Glycerine, Ceramide Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate, Niacinamide, Tocopherol Acetate, Coconut Diethanomide, Fragrance, Colorant.

The Soap:
Like any other kojic soap, this soap also has orange in color and has mild citrus scent and since this soap is pretty big I cut it in three before I use it. BTW there is some warnings of using kojic acid soap. This type of soap is usually quite irritating to sensitive skin and may cause redness, itchiness, and inflammation. So make sure to try a small amount on the arms as a trial to make sure the skin doesn't go an adverse reaction to the soap. Extra moisturizer is a must to replenish the skin moisture lost and help the skin heal faster. The use of skincare products that contains salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy or retinol should be avoided because these can aggravate the skin.

The first week of using this soap my skin begins to exfoliate but the exfoliation is pretty mild and therefore my skin is pretty but not as dry as I expected it to be. Just slab on body lotion after bath and my skin is back to normal. I do not experience any redness, itchiness or some kind of other irritation while using this soap and this soap last for about 6 weeks. It last longer than the previous kojic acid soap because this soap doesn't melts as easy as the other soap.

As using it for the face, I was afraid of using it on my face before because I don't want to experience anymore irritation and the previous kojic acid soap stings like b*it*h when I use it on my face!! I was brave enough to use it on my face after using it on my body for two weeks and I was pretty happy because I don't experience any kinds of irritation on my face.

The Verdict:

After using a whole soap for about 6 weeks I notice that the scars on my legs is less visible but it doesn't really works for older scars. The exfoliation process is also pretty mild and it doesn't dry my skin as much as I expected it to be. In regards with the whitening properties of this soap I notice that my knees and elbows are a bit lighter but it's still uneven with the rest of my body. 

As for using the soap for my face I notice that it does helps with my acne problems but I only use the soap once a day in the morning because I use retinol on my face at night. Yes I do keep on using retinol in lieu with the kojic acid soap but it was this particular soap do not irritates my skin so I was brave enough to use them together. But if I was using other soap and it irritates my skin I would not dare to use it with retinol!! Anyway this soaps also helps making my acne scars less visible but it works better on newer acne scars and took more time for older scars. 

What I Like:

- helps lighten my scars and acne scars

- helps lighten my darken knees and elbow
- mild exfoliation

What I Don't Like:
