Crochet Book #5: Kreasi Rajutan Cantik

This book is my latest book on crochet that I bought, it's "Kreasi Rajutan Cantik" by Thata Pang. If I'm not mistaken she is one of the crohet / knit guru in Indonesia. Her book is a bit different with other crochet book because in her book there is a combination on crocheting and knitting, but since I don't knit I think I'm gonna skip that part even though it's sooo cute.   If I'm not mistaken I bough this book for $4 (IDR 40.000).

There are a lot of pattern in this book such as scarf, pashmina, hat, gloves, gift wrapper and even house slipper and since some of the pattern in this book combines crocheting and knitting there are basic explanation and instruction on technique, variation, and terms on crocheting and knitting. The book also explains the difference between crocheting and knitting, and the tools and materials that is used in crocheting and knitting.

All of the pattern in this book are also labeled with a beginner, beginner plus, average, and intermediate tag to guide the reader and all of the pattern also has step by step instruction and picture pattern.

Crochet Book #4: Replika Makanan untuk Souvenir

As I was browsing on Toga Mas book store in Galeria Mall this book caught my eye, the title is "Replika Makanan untuk Souvenir" by Yuniar Wibowo. This book has a lot of stuff on food amigurumi which are soo cute!! You can make this amigurumi into all kinds of cute stuff like phone strap, key chain, pin, magnet cozy and many more.Like other crochet book this book also has basic explanation on crochet stitch and terms.

There are 39 food amigurumi pattern in this book and all of them are sooo kawaii!! You can make sunny side up, onions, vegetables, biscuits, candy and cakes. The end results of this amigurumi are pretty small so it doesn't take a long time to make one. The patterns are explains in step by step instruction and picture.

Crochet Book #3: Kreasi Binatang untuk Souvenir

Bored with the usual crochet craft I try to find some other things that I can make from crocheting. From my trip to the book store I found this book, it's "Kreasi Binatang untuk Souvenir" by Arie Alhabsyi. It's filled with small crochet animal that is usually called Amigurumi. Amigurumi is a Japanese terms for this dolls, it is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll so amigurumi means crocheted or knitted stuffed dolls.

There are 16 kinds of animals and insects in this book, you can make it into a phone strap, fridge cozy, brooch and many more. The book also contain some basic crocheting and explanation about crochet symbols and terms. The patterns for the animals are explains in symbol pictures and step by step instruction using crochet stitch terms.

Crochet Book #2: Crochet Accessories

This is my favorite book on crochet so far it's called "Crochet Accessories" by Ratu Sri Hastutie. From the book title of course it has a lot of pattern and idea on how to make crochet accessories. I bought this book at a local craft store for $4.5 (IDR 45.000) in Yogyakarta but I've seen this book in Gramedia and other book store too.

The book also have explanation on crochet terms and symbols and also a few explanation on the basic of crocheting, so even beginners can also use this book. This book uses a lot of flower pattern than can be turn into earring, necklace, bracelet, headband, ring, and brooch.

I've made almost all of the flower pattern in this book and also made some accessories that I've used myself. It turns out pretty good too!! Although I still can't understand some of the symbol / stitches that is confusing. This book has two instruction for the pattern, one in the form of symbol pattern and one in the form of step by step instruction using crochet stitch terms. 

Crochet Book: Teknik Merajut untuk Pemula

For those in Indonesia who wants to learn crocheting this book is pretty good, it's called "Teknik Merajut untuk Pemula" by Noe Idris. You can get this book at a book shop, craft / hobby shop, or even in an online book shop. I bought mine at Gramedia for $28.5 (IDR 28.000).

This book has an instruction on how to hold the yarn for crocheting, how to begin the yarn, how to join the yarn and join the pieces, how to end or fasten off the yarn, and many kinds of crochet stitches. There are also some patterns for beginner like tissue wallet, cellphone case, and coaster.

I think this book is good for a beginner since it has a detailed pictures and instruction that are easy to understand.
