Review: The Skin Food Tomato Whitening Emulsion

I'm back with another skin care review ^^. If you read my blog a lot (I Hope...) you'll know that I am constantly fighting my acne problems and I have a lot of blemish marks from those days. In order to diminish those blemish marks aside from spot treatment I like to use whitening products like whitening serum or moisturizer. So my purpose on whitening products is not to make my skin whiter but to fade those pesky blemish marks. Okay... Onto the review now... To take care those blemish marks I was very interested in The Skinfood Tomato Line since I there are a lot of good review on this products. I bought The Skinfood Tomato Whitening Serum and Emulsion. The serum goes out first since I use it more often but the emulsion last much much longer because I didn't use much.

1st Impression: Etude House Skin Malgem Kit and Quick Trick for Acne-Prone Skin

I haven't update my blog for a while now because I've been busy preparing for my graduation and haven't had the time to post anything and since now I had a lil' bit time I'm gonna post my first impression on Etude House Skin Malgem Kit.

I got this trial kit as a giveaway prize from Intenscorner a few months ago and finally decided to use it.

Skin Malgem Smoother

Etude House Skin [Mal:Gem] Smoother is a hypoallergenic exfoliating toner that makes skin clear and smooth. Orange ingredient reduces appearance of pores and cleans out impurities effectively, by removing dead skin cells. Lemon extract makes dull skin look brighter and clearer while sugar maple promotes softer skin with moisturizing properties.

Directions: After cleansing, apply all over face with cotton swab.

At the back of the bottle it says "Exfoliation Toner", which really helps in keeping skin smooth. This toner has watery consistency and it has a flowery fruity scent. Both of the Smoother and Deep Moist has a similar scent. I use this toner twice a day as a clarifying toner after I wash my face to deep cleanse my skin. A bottle last for about 10 days since I'm only using it a little bit because I don't want it to go empty since I love this toner so much!! This toner really cleanse my skin well, even after I wash my face there is is still some dirt residue on the cotton!! This means (I think) that this toner really cleanse my face well and my face feels extra clean! 

Skin Malgem Smoother

Etude House Skin [Mal:Gem] Deep Moist is a hypoallergenic toner for those with very dry skin. It’s milky like texture allows the moisturizing properties to penetrate so deep and effectively, that additional moisturizers are not needed. Soybean extracts nourish skin sufficiently, improving overall skin condition. While pore controlling properties make skin clear and smooth by reducing their appearance.
Directions: After cleansing, apply all over face with cotton swab.

The Deep Moist is said to fit people with dry and sensitive skin but it works surprisingly well on my oily combination skin too!! I think because Deep Moist is water based rather than oil based so it also suits my skin too. Deep Moist  has a milky texture and looks more like a emulsion or a serum than a toner, so instead using it like a normal toner with cotton I use it like a lotion by rubbing it on my palm and then pat my skin gently with it. Deep Moist feels really nice and it has a cooling effect on my skin too! It is really mild and moisturizes well without making my face feels oily. One small bottle last for about 3 weeks because I only use it in the morning.

Clear Cotton

There's five pad of circular clear cotton in the Skin Malgem Kit and the circular one has wave ridges on it. I think it was suppose to help exfoliate the skin better but regular cotton works the same too.

Soft Cotton

There's also three soft cotton inside the Skin Malgem Kit and it is used as a lotion mask. I use it with the Deep Moist and it left my skin fresh and supple. But regular cotton works just as good though

Moisturizer/Sunblock Trick for Acne-Prone Skin

As I mention regularly on my post... My skin are not good... I have large pore, sensitive, acne prone and oily combination skin which means that I have a constant never ending battle with ACNE!! I usually put acne medication at night but at morning and day I don't have any protection from acne. So I ask my brother about it and he suggest that I mix acne gel with moisturizer or sunblock. That way my skin is protected from acne and since it is mixed with moisturizer too the acne gel won't make my skin dries!! Apparently he's been mixing acne gel and sunblock for a while too!! So.... If you have an acne prone skin like mine and want some extra protection maybe you can use this trick too..!!

I currently use Etude House Skin Malgem Deep Moist and Niacef Acne Gel. You can get Niacef at local pharmacy.

Use about a pea size of acne gel on your palm.

Add moisturizer, emulsion, serum, sunblock or whatever it is that you want to mix with the acne gel. Rub your palm together and pat the product lightly on your face. I use them on my neck too since I have a few acne on my neck (T.T),

I've been getting more and more sample each time I buys some Korean products and without I'm realizing it has become this much. So I'm thinking of posting my sample and let you guys pick which one of these sample pile that you want me to review.

Review: Skinfood Tea Tree Essence and Skinfood Tea Tree Emulsion

Satu lagi review mengenai produk dari The Skin Food, kali ini aku mau review soal Tea Tree Essence dan Tea Tree Emulsion. Aku tertarik sama produk ini karena terbuat dari tea tree yang memang ampuh melawan jerawat, aku sendiri suka mengoleskan tea tree oil ke jerawatku alih-alih menggunakan obat jerawat karena kalau pake tea tree oil jerawatku bisa kering dan kempes tanpa membuat kulit di sekitar jerawatku iritasi dan pecah-pecah seperti obat jerawat lain meskipun untuk kulitku efek pengeringan jerawatnya tidak secepat salep jerawat. Tea Tree Series dari The Skin Food ini sendiri masih ada rangkaian lainnya yaitu face cleanser dan toner tapi aku hanya nyoba yang dua ini aja karena aku udah punya pembersih wajah yang cocok dan home made toner yang juga cocok (resepnya disini dan disini). Takutnya nanti udah beli smua malah gag cocok sayang pula uangnya.

Botol dari Tea Tree Essence berupa botol pump transparan dengan label dengan  model seperti daur ulang berwarna coklat dan hijau, cairan esensnya sendiri transparan dengan wangi khas tea tree. Ada yang gag suka sama baunya tapi aku sendiri cukup suka. Deskripsi produk ini menurut Skinfood adalah "A soothing essence for troubled, oily skin, containing tea tree oil and willow herb extract that control excess sebum". Jadi produk ini merupakan esens yang menenangkan kulit bermasalah, berminyak yang mengandung tea tree oil dan ramuan ekstrak willow yang membantu mengontrol kadar minyak berlebih.

Produk ini aku kugunakan dengan cara memompa sekitar 1.5 pump produk ke telapak tangan kemudian kutepuk perlahan-lahan ke wajah secara perlahan. Produk ini menyerap secara cepat ke kulit yang kemudian aku lanjutkan dengan penggunaan emulsion.

Botol Tea Tree Emulsion ini berupa botol kaca dan emulsionnya sendiri teksturnya seperti lotion agak cair berwarna kehijauan dengan bau khas tea tree juga. Cara pemakaian sama dengan Tea Tree Essence yaitu produk dituang ke telapak tangan kemudian diusapkan secara perlahan ke wajah dengan cara ditepuk-tepuk. 

Kedua produk ini menurut aku oke banget, wajahku terasa lembab sepanjang hari dan setelah pemakaian sekitar satu minggu tidak ada jerawat yang muncul dan kemerahan di wajahku agak berkurang. Produk ini aku gunakan 2x sehari pada pagi dan malam hari, untuk malam hari aku gunakan sebelum emc dan bbc dan pada malam hari sebelum emc atau krim malam. Overall produk ini cukup oke untuk menjaga kelembapan kulit sepanjang hari dan mencegah munculnya jerawat baru namun sepertinya kurang ngefek untuk jerawat yang udah ada sebelumnya.
