´ ▽ ` )οΎ‰ Hello!!!
I've been so busy with moving preparation for the past month so I don't really have time to update my blog or even blog walking these days. Plus my phone's internet connection is kinda sucky and I can't browse from my phone either... Talk about double bummer (TAT).... Anyway this morning is a bit free so I'm gonna make a post on two toner from The Body Shop that I've been using for the past few months and just run out of it last June. I only had one picture of each toner because the other pictures are on my phone and I lost the phone last month. Damn you thief!!! Errr.... Nuff said and straight to the reviews...
I got this cucumber water from The Body Shop great sale and it was only IDR 35.000 if I'm not wrong. I usually made my own toner but this one kinda interest and since it's for all skin type I don't think my skin gonna have a problem with it too.
product Claims:
Feel as cool as a cucumber with a toner that refreshes and cleanses, just like our original one. Now with Community Trade organic aloe vera.
how to use:
I use this toner as a regular toner with cotton mask after I wash my face or as a lotion mask. How I use it as a mask is that I put a nice amount of the toner in a cotton mask and then I peel the mask in three and put it on my forehead and cheek. Hmmm.... Instant Fresh!!
Ingredients:
Water, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Polysorbate 20, Sodium PCA, Alcohol Denat, Potassium Sorbate, Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) Juice, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Hexyl Cinnamal, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Geraniol, Methylparaben, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben.
My thoughts and experiences:
The first time I open the bottle I notice a really refreshing cucumber aroma... I don't know if anybody else likes it but I really do like the smell of cucumber he he he. It reminds me of the Melon Cucumber body mist that I use to have and can't seem to find it anywhere else again... ( ┰_┰) #sigh.... And... Like the name suggest, this toner has a cool and freshening effect when applied on skin and it also doesn't stings, but other than that I don't really notice any other effect though. I prefer to use this toner at night because it sometimes also picks up dirt that can't be cleanse by facial wash and also because it relaxes my skin. The bottle has a pretty sturdy flip-flop cap and it was pretty easy to dispense the toner out.
my likes:
- Great scent.
- Removes dirt.
- For all skin types.
- Has a cool and fresh effect when applied.
- Doesn't sting.
my dislikes:
- Other than the fact that it was way expensive than my homemade toner I don't have anything to dislikes #LOL
repurchase?
I guess not... And if I'm not mistaken I heard this baby is already discontinued??
The body shop tea tree skin clearing toner
I also bought this toner at The Body Shop great sale and since I have an acne-prone skin I thought that this toner would be perfect for my skin.
product Claims:
This refreshing toner for blemished skin gives a beautifully matte, shine-free finish. Removes traces of make-up, cleanser and impurities Mattifying powders leave skin shine-free Clinically proven to give clearer-looking skin.
ingredients:
Water, Alcohol Denat., Corn Starch Modified, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Allantoin, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Limonene, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, t-Butyl Alcohol, Citral, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tea Tree) Oil, Denatonium Benzoate, Tocopherol, Caramel, Yellow 5, Blue 1.
How to use:
my thoughts and experiences:
I'm one of those people that actually likes the scent of tea tree oil (I know some people hate it..) and when I open the bottle I can really smell the scent of tea tree!! It has a greenish color and mattifying powder on the bottom part of the bottle so I have to shake the bottle before I use it which I don't really like because I tends to forgot (_ _。)・・. The mattifying powder is actually just a fancy word for corn starch #LOL so is it really matter if I shake the product or not isn't it? Since the ingredient that I need is the tea tree. But then again it was me justifying my forgetfulness.
When I first use the toner on my skin I feel a burning sensation which I really don't like!! The burning sensation last for some times too, and I thought that the more I use this toner my skin will get use to it and won't feel hot again. Guess what?? I am so wrong!! Even after a few months I use this toner I still feel a burning sensation!! After some time I notice that if I use only a small amount the burning sensation won't be really noticeable so a bottle of this toner last for a really really long time.
I use this toner only in the morning after I wash my face and surprisingly there's still some trace amount of dirt in the cotton. So I guess this toner did a pretty good job on clearing my skin. As for the oil control I guess it really does help to some extent but not much. But what about the blemishes?? It does helps but I just hate hate hate the burning sensation!!
Note:
If you have a lot of extensive acne on your skin I don't recommends using this toner because it will burns the hell out of your skin!! I had a few acne when my periods come and when I use this toner on my skin it felt hotter than before!! Ohh and I just realize that since this toner has a high alcohol content and my skin is very sensitive to alcohol, that's why I still feels hot even after I use it for some times now. So this toner is also not recommended if for people who has sensitive skin or sensitive to alcohol.
my likes:
- Removes other impurities that my cleanser missed.
- Control blemishes.
- Last a long time.
- Only need a small amount per application.
My dislikes:
- It BURNS!!!
- High alcohol content.
