Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser

Hiddy Ho!!
I'm back with another review fellas....!!

This time I'm gonna review a facial wash that I bought some several months ago. It's The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser... Pheww... What a long name.....

I bought it because it was in a discounted price at that time and I never try this foaming type of cleanser before. The retail price was IDR 129.000 which I think was a bit pricey for a facial wash, but hey that's just my opinion.

About TBS Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser:
  • A refreshing instant foaming cleanser for blemished skin.
  • Removes make-up and impurities.
  • Regular cleansing will help keep skin blemish-free.
The Product Claims:
Wash away make-up, dirt and excess oil and unclog pores with a zesty, refreshing, lightweight liquid-to-foam cleanser.

How The Product Works:
  • Tea Tree oil: Our Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil comes from the foothills of Mount Kenya. Tea tree leaves are picked by hand and steam-distilled to release the oil. Our trade with the Kenya Organic Oil Farmers Association encourages sustainable and organic farming methods which help to preserve the area’s natural biodiversity
  • Lemon tea tree and Community Trade tea tree oil from Kenya contain properties that help fight blemishes and prevent new ones from forming.
  • Tamanu oil from Madagascar has a soothing effect and helps to calm irritation and redness.
  • Menthol creates a cool fresh tingle that leaves skin feeling refreshed.
  • A non-aerosol pump transforms the liquid formulation in the bottle into a light, silky foam.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Natural Additive), Glycerin (Humectant), Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Citric Acid, p-Anisic Acid, PVP, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Menthol, Limonene, Leptospermum Petersonii (Lemon Tea Tree) Oil, Tocopherol.

Packaging:
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser comes in a transparent green bottle, with a translucent white cap. The bottle has a pump type dispenser and a large nozzle so when you press the pump, the dispenser turns the liquid to foam before dispensing it onto your palm. Since it has a large nozzle the foam comes out nice and easy.

Consistency/Fragrance:
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser is very liquid in the bottle, but comes out as a foam from the nozzle. The foam is really nice and soft too. Like any other product with Tea Tree in it, it has that distinctive tea tree fragrance which some might not like but it doesn't really bother me.

My Experience with The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser:
If you don't know about my skin type, I have a sensitive, acne-prone, and oily-combination skin. My thoughts on this cleanser at first was that it was very easy to use and carry. The bottle was very sturdy and great for travelling because I don't have to worry about spillage. The amount of foam dispense is also very nice, around 1-2 pump is usually enough for my face.

The cleanser has menthol in it so when I cleanse my face with it I feel a slight tingling sensation which I think was very nice and give a boost when I wash my face in the morning. This cleanser also do not dries my skin at all, some cleanser with tea tree in it makes my skin dry and flaky for some reason. After using this cleanser for several weeks I notice that my skin is less oily and the appearance of blemish has reduce slightly day by day. It's not a miracle product but it sure works I think. Although this cleanser claims to remove make up I still would not dare to remove my make-up with only this cleanser because I don't think this cleanser is able to clean waterproof make-up and heavy make-up. When I use it this twice a day every morning and night this it last for about 6 weeks which I think was quite fast since other facial wash products last for a longer time with the use.

My Likes:
- Do not dry my skin.
- Leaves my skin feels clean and minty fresh.
- Helps with my blemishes.
- Easy to pump dispenser
- No spill packaging means easy for travelling.
- Paraben free.
- Supports community fair trade

My Dislikes:
- I think it was a bit expensive for a facial cleanser.
- A bottle only last for about 6 weeks.

Repurchase?
No... I only bought it the first time since it was in a discounted price.
