This September makeupnista challenge is cartoon character, and when I think about cartoon character all I can think about is Sailor Moon, Doraemon, Wedding Peach... Well... Mostly an anime.
So... Does cartoon character challenge means you have to do western cartoon character?? I mean all of them are animation and the word anime itself is Japanese abbreviated pronunciation of "animation". That means... Yeah anime is a cartoon character. Besides either it's Western or Eastern animation when you ask any kids they only now that Ben10, Doraemon, Pokemon, and all that animation are considered a cartoon.
Having prove my point, I decided to do an anime. I don't really have any specific character in mind. But when I heard anime the first thing that 'pops' in my mind is that all anime character have ridiculously big eyes and small lips.
Osamu Tezuka, who is believed to have been the first to use big eyes character was inspired by the exaggerated features of American cartoon characters such as Betty Boop, Mickey Mouse, and Disney's Bambi. Tezuka found that large eyes style allowed his characters to show emotions distinctly. When Tezuka began drawing Ribbon no Kishi, the first manga specifically targeted at young girls, Tezuka further exaggerated the size of the characters' eyes. Indeed, through Ribbon no Kishi, Tezuka set a stylistic template that later shōjo artists tended to follow.
Coloring is added to give eyes, particularly to the cornea, some depth. The depth is accomplished by applying variable color shading. Generally, a mixture of a light shade, the tone color, and a dark shade is used.

Other than big eyes an anime character tends to have small mouth and sometimes non existent nose. I think this means to make them looks cuter and indeed they are!!
Here's some cartoon character with big eyes.
Since the eyes are what portray emotions/feelings/thoughts in an anime
character... It's pretty hard to read emotion from a cartoon character
faces... that's why they need to accentuate the eyes to make the emotion
more obvious..
Even if you only look at the eye you'll know that the girl in the top picture is sad so does the angry girl at the bottom.
So without further ado... Here's my interpretation on cartoon character... It's my first time doing this kind off thing, so forgive if it's bad. I also don't have a decent camera so the picture quality isn't very good...
Sooo..... Here's my big eyes cartoon character. I don't have any specific character for it, just wanna do some character with really really big eyes. I hope that's okay?!!?!? I curl my hair a bit and put one giant bow headband to make it more cartoonish...
wooohhh....keren eyeshadownyaaa. Kaya mata anime :))))
