What I Did With Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

A lot of my friends often ask me why I have an Apple Cider Vinegar on my cabinet or why I often buys it...

Hmmm....... They really miss a lot of its advantages!!

So today's I'm gonna share about what I did with apple cider vinegar and it's benefits. I've already listed some of the benefits of ACV itself here. ACV isn't expensive too, the 300ml bottle only cost around $3 (IDR 30.000) and the 1 liter bottle cost around $5 (IDR 50.000).

ACV Toner
I've already used ACV as a toner concoction for more than 6 months now and I'm proud to say that this was my HG toner so far. I do sometimes tries another store bough toner but ultimately this homemade toner is the best one for me. It works like a charm for my acne prone skin and helps with my backne too. In fact the first time I bought ACV is to cure my backne problem and then I used it on my face as a toner. You can find the toner recipe here and here.

ACV is great for toner because it's naturally antiseptic and antibacterial, plus it helps balance the pH of your skin (which is actually supposed to be slightly acidic). Since I used this I feel my face has a more healthy glow to it, more even skin tone, and off course getting rid of acne. The smell really does a bit annoying at first but it'll go eventually leaving your skin feels great!!

I use this toner twice a day with cotton pad after I wash my face and before I use serum, moisturizer and any other skin care product.

ACV Drink
I started drinking ACV about a month ago for health purposes. At first I'm afraid to drink this because maybe it'll not agree with my stomach because of the acidity. Thankfully my stomach doesn't have any problem with ACV.

My recipe is I mix 2-3 tablespoon of ACV with honey and water to reduce the strong flavor and prefer to drink it with straw to reduce its damaging effect on my teeth enamel. If I don't have a straw I gurgle with clean water afterwards.

Drinking ACV supposed to cures allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout. Apple Cider Vinegar also breaks down fat and is widely used to lose weight. It has also been reported that a daily dose of apple cider vinegar in water has high blood pressure under control in two weeks!

I usually drink this at morning and brush my teeth to cleanse the ACV from my teeth.

ACV Hair Rinse
ACV also good for your hair. I usually do and ACV rinse after I'm done washing and conditioning my hair. I mix 1-2 tablespoon of ACV, 1 tablespoon of honey and 250ml of water and use it at the last step in rinsing my hair before drying it. ACV's acidity is close to that of natural hair, it’s a good conditioner and cleaning agent and it’s also an effective germ killer.

Rinsing with apple cider vinegar will help balance the pH of your hair and remove the buildup that can result from the use of these styling products and inexpensive shampoos.

Rinsing will also close the numerous cuticle scales which cover and protect the surface of each hair shaft. This imparts a smoother surface which reflects more light and as a result leaves your hair shinier, smoother and easier to manage.

I did ACV hair rinse about twice weekly and didn't rinse my hair again afterwards. Some people like to rinse it off again with water because of the smell but I didn't because I like the extra conditioning effect it gives on my hair and the smell goes after my hair dries. This one really helps with my itchy scalp.

p.s: after coming back from holiday I'm having frizzy hair on some parts of my hair hopefully this ACV rinse can cure it, I'll be using this along with my anti-frizz hair serum. Because only using the serum itself just softens my frizzy hair a bit and it doesn't satisfy me.

ACV Mask
I only use ACV if I make a facial mask from powder mask, I mix powder mask with ACV and rose water, or I mix the powder mask with my premade ACV toner. Another recipe for ACV mask is mix 2 teaspoons of ACV, 1 teaspoon of EVOO, and 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply to your face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water. Gently pat the face dry. I only did the ACV, EVOO, Honey mask once so I can't really tell its long term effect but after only once my face really feels great and it doesn't break me out too cuz it's all natural!!

Do you have any use for ACV?
Is ACV works for you?
