Hello there....
Today I'm gonna post a review about this Philippines beauty soap which is Bevi Kojic Acid Soap since I've already use it until the last bits. I bought this soap from Baterflai Tat Shop in Facebook, she sells a lot of Philippines beauty products with affordable price.
Kojic acid was derived from a mushroom in 1989 and has since been used in several skincare and anti-aging products as a natural ingredient for lightening skin pigmentation. Kojic acid soaps are typically made with a combination of natural skin lightening fruit acid and papaya extract that work by softening the skin and creating a luminous, healthy glow. Kojic acid soap is primarily an exfoliating skin product that slowly gets rid of pigmentation and dark spots by buffing away the damaged skin cells. The papaya enzymes in Kojic acid soaps help to break down the top layer of skin cells and peel away damaged skin, revealing the fresh and healthy cells underneath. This soap can be used as a regular bath soap all over the body, as a shaving foam for the face and neck, or just on the face to even out the skin tone.
The soap has a bright orange packaging and some product description in the back:
Affordable Kojic Acid care is now in soap. Kojic Acid Soap, with the trusted, natural skin lightening properties of Kojic Acid helps lighten the skin, dark spots due to aging, freckles, sun-damaged skin, and other skin pigmentation.
Ingredients:
Premium Coconut with Kojic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Fragrance and Moisturizer.
I bought this soap for $5 (IDR 50.000) and it's quite big too (140 gr). I cut the soap in two pieces before I use it since it's hard if I use it whole. The soap has orange in color which is typical with Kojic Acid Soap and as for the fragrance I barely notice it even though it has fragrance in the ingredients list but the scent was so subtle. One soap can last for about a month and I mostly use this on my body and not face because I'm using tretinoin at night and Kojic Acid will definitely aggravate my skin condition if I use the soap on my face. I do try the soap once though on my face and it stings like a bi#@h!! So if your skin is sensitive or if you're using other skin care products that has salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy or retinol, you should avoid using Kojic Acid on your face because these can aggravate the skin.
My friend told me that using Kojic Soap will makes your skin dries severely but this soap do not make my skin super dry although my skin starts to get flaky for the first week I use this soap. After that my skin condition is back to normal again but when it gets to the third weeks my skin starts to exfoliate again and becomes flaky. For the whitening effects on my skin I barely notice it since my skin is already quite fair and the reason I try the soap is to prevent my skin from getting darker after I go out in the sun. Even though I barely notice the effect of this soap to my skin tone I do notice that some scar pigmentation on my legs is getting lighter by the day and after using the soap for about a month I barely notice the scar. YAYY!! (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
My Likes:
- affordable.
- lighten scar.
My Dislikes:
- none.

I'm gonna try another kojic soap first and compare them.

Is it true that if you don't apply sunscreen on your skin after using any Kojic Acid soap, your skin will turn into darkish brown? And also increase your skin's sensitivity? - Carrie
ReplyDeleteI wear sunblock everyday on my face and body lotion with high SPF on my body so I don't really know about the skin turning into darkish brown. You can see on my pic in several post that I look pretty much okay #LOL.
DeleteAbout the skin sensitivity it's true, my skin gets slightly photosensitive but not as sensitive as I expected it to be. Probably because I use to do a Retinoic Acid regime and my skin is already getting use to this kind of products (On my face though not body).
But as far as this particular soap go (Bevi) I don't feel any photo sensitivity on my face or my body. Although I heard Kojie-san gives you quite the skin's sensitivity.
Hope it helps dear ^^
I bought one just now and I am looking for reviews of the soap and was linked to your blog! ;)
